Fitness

I never would have thought that I would say this but fitness has become a huge part of my life…I actually LOVE working out.  I love how it makes me feel, the people I have met while exercising and putting together new outfits to wear to the gym.

Guys, I have something amazing to share with you!  If you are anything like me, you love pizza.  Unfortunately, pizza is not the most calorie friendly food.  Pizza is something that I treat myself to every once and a while…and there are usually long whiles in between my pizzas.  A few months ago I came across Real Good Pizza Co.  To be honest, the first thing that caught my eye was their little slogan or quote on the back of their box “Pizza is Life, they told us it wasn’t possible, they said it wouldn’t taste good, they were wrong.”  I mean can this really not be more perfect?  Of course I had to give them a try…and it is AMAZING!!!!!  The fact that it has 25 g of protein and only 4 g of carbs and that the crust is made of chicken breast and parmesan…how crazy is that? If you order from them directly the pizzas arrive frozen and ready for you to pop into your oven whenever you are having a pizza craving.  There are currently 3 different flavors.  3 cheese, Pepperoni and Supreme.  They are all so good but I think my personal favorite is the Supreme.  I also love adding more veggies to these pizzas to make different flavor combinations.   These pizzas are seriously delicious and I will definitely keep my freezer stocked.  If you try these out, or have tried them in the past please let me know which pizza is your favorite.  If…

Day 11 – My Top 8 Tips for Getting Started With Exercise  I get so many questions about what my workouts were like when I first started my weightless journey!  Being over 500 pounds it was a physical struggle to really do anything. So I just walked.  I started with 5 minutes everyday which turned into 10 minutes and then 20 minutes.  Before I knew it, I was doing workout videos at home.  To be honest, I hated it!  Moving my body hurt and it was very hard to do.  I never let that stop me or make me give up.  I pushed myself and made working out a priority.  We all have excuses as to why we feel we can’t workout.  Reality is that the only thing stopping us is…us.  You CAN do it!  You just need to believe in yourself and give it your best shot.  Push yourself out of your comfort zone.  Nothing will change unless you are willing to throw out the excuses and try.  Create new habits by making exercise a part of your everyday routine.  It will get easier I promise, and the pain you may feel now will soon be filled with so much pride in how far you have come.  I hope these tips will help you to get started and start the New Year off on the right path.  Starting is always the hardest part, but after you get going it will be hard to stop you.  Just know that you CAN do it.    …

Day 7 – My Top 10 Tips for Surviving the Holidays!     It is the most wonderful time of the year!  The sights and sounds of Christmas are all around us.  We are surrounded by so much laughter, joy and food…lots and lots of food.  For me Christmas is my favorite time of year, but has also been one of the most challenging time of year to stay committed to my health and fitness goals.  In the past I have completely deprived myself from enjoying anything food related around the holidays.  I stuck to my food plan, and wouldn’t even allow myself one bite of a Christmas cookie.  To be honest, this really made me sad to feel that way.  On the other hand, I have also allowed myself to REALLY indulge and that only left me more miserable than before.  Over the years, I have found a healthy balance of not completely depriving myself and at the same time not going completely overboard.  With Christmas being about a week away, I thought I would share my “Top 10 Tips to Surviving the Holidays.” I am hoping that by sharing my tips, I can help you not stress over the parties and gatherings that you go to, but go in confident that you can enjoy yourself while still keeping your health and fitness goals in mind.      Tip 1.  Exercise – It is important get a good workout in, not only to burn some calories but to start the…

Day 5 – Christmas Movie Workout   One of my Favorite things about Saturday’s is when I am able to sleep in a little bit after a long week and go get a workout in.  There is nothing better than starting off your weekend with a great workout.  It has been challenging for me because I haven’t been able to work out as I recover from my skin removal surgeries.  Working out has become such a huge part of my life and not being able to feels, well…weird.  I have been watching lots of Christmas movies lately and I thought what better way than to combine two of my favorite activities.  This how the “How the GRINCH Stole Christmas” Holiday Workout was created.  I decided to pick the Grinch because I have been watching it every night to help me fall asleep.  It is such a Christmas classic and I thought it would be fun to play a game  while watching.  This is meant to be a fun way to get in a little extra activity, and make working out during this holiday season a little more exciting!  Even  if you can’t do all of the reps, just do what you can.  I am not a trainer or a fitness expert and I don’t want anybody to get hurt while doing this.  Exercise was never something I thought I could do or that I would ever love doing however after I stepped out of my comfort zone and just gave it a…
