Fitness

I never would have thought that I would say this but fitness has become a huge part of my life…I actually LOVE working out.  I love how it makes me feel, the people I have met while exercising and putting together new outfits to wear to the gym.

So lately I have been getting a lot of questions about good workout routines and what I would recommend or what I do or did.  I am working on getting together some of my favorite at home workouts and videos I like following.  I know going to the gym or paying a membership fee is expensive and we cannot all afford it.  Trust me I know.  I wish I could get a membership everywhere haha BUT that does not mean that you cannot still get a killer wokout from the comfort of your own home!  So in the meantime while I round up all of my favorite at home workout as well as get together my current workout routine, I thought that I would share with you a GREAT at home workout that my trainer Bo came up with a few weeks ago for one of our group Saturday classes.  Do not worry about if you cannot do all of the reps, just do as many as you can.  For us, class was one hour long and we got through as much as we could.  I think I was close to finishing, but had a few left that I did not complete. Also we went in a rotation.  So we did one core move, one cardio move and one weight station then did a lap outside.  After each rotation we came back and kept going down the list.   Go ahead and give this a try.  See how many reps you can do of each move…

How I Started Exercising…Even at 500 Pounds.

500 pounds.  A number I never dreamed I would ever see when I stepped on the scale. For me, while I was gaining weight, I avoided the scale at all costs.  I did not want to see what the number was.  For me, if I did not see it, it was not real. Being in denial about my weight did not do me any good.  To be honest it probably made it worse. Sometimes I think “if I would have stepped on the scale earlier, I would have never let myself to reach that number.”  I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and not living in the past.  I try not to think about the “what if’s”, no matter how hard it is for me not to do. So saying “What if I weighed myself sooner” does not change the fact that I didn’t and does not help me in any way now So there I was, weighing over 500 pounds.  I could barely get out of bed, put my shoes on, or get dressed without getting out of breath. When I decided it was time for things to change and when I decided I was ready to start my weightless journey, I had no plan on working out…if we are being completely honest.  I just wanted to lose weight and changing my eating habits was enough for me to just get me started For the first few weeks, I focused on my food.  I was…

I have been getting a lot of questions about what protein powder I use, so I decided to share with you guys my favorite protein powder and how or when I like to use them. To begin I just want to start by saying that I am not sponsored by any of these brands and I am not being paid to talk about them.  I am simply sharing with you guys what I like and what works for me! So I have 3 favorite brands of protein that I like to use.  I use them all in different ways that I find taste best and work the best for me. I personally get in a lot of protein from more natural sources everyday, however when I am working out, I like to have a little something extra to really help my recovery and build my muscles.  And a little extra protein just makes me feel good. When I was recovering from my skin removal surgeries it was essential for me to get in A LOT of protein.  Using these products was a great way for me to get that protein in, and I think it is what really helped me heal so quickly.  My body was actually craving protein. So lets begin… Protein Shakes  Optimum Nutrition: I have found that this brand is the best when I just want to drink a protein shake plain.  I usually add about 6oz of water, a little less than 1 full scoop (I like to…

I am so excited to be sharing the recipe that I use for my protein waffles.  I have tried making these waffles a few different ways but have found that by doing it this way, they are seriously the best protein waffles that I have ever tried.  They contain very few ingredients and they are so delicious and easy to make.  You can literally top them with anything but my favorite is adding a little (or a lot) of Walden Farms Calorie Free Pancake Syrup.  There are a ton of similar recipes out there and I’m sharing the one that works best for me.  I have a serious addiction to them and I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do! Protein Waffle Recipe INGREDIENTS 1 Scoop PEScience Protein Powder (my favorites are Snickerdoodle and Chocolate Peanut Butter)  1 tsp Baking Powder 1 Whole Egg Water Waffle Toppings   INSTRUCTIONS 1.Preheat waffle iron 2. Mix the protein powder and baking powder 3. Add the egg and mix to combine 4. Add a little bit of water at a time and mix until it is batter consistency 5. Spray your preheated waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray  6. Pour batter onto waffle maker  7. I cook mine for between 1-2 minutes  8. Top with your favorite waffle toppings and ENJOY!   Some of my favorite toppings are  Syrup Fresh Fruit Peanut Butter or PB2 Nuts Dark Chocolate Chips Cool Whip   XOXO Jacqueline
