The Protein Powder I Use.

I have been getting a lot of questions about what protein powder I use, so I decided to share with you guys my favorite protein powder and how or when I like to use them.

To begin I just want to start by saying that I am not sponsored by any of these brands and I am not being paid to talk about them.  I am simply sharing with you guys what I like and what works for me!

So I have 3 favorite brands of protein that I like to use.  I use them all in different ways that I find taste best and work the best for me.

I personally get in a lot of protein from more natural sources everyday, however when I am working out, I like to have a little something extra to really help my recovery and build my muscles.  And a little extra protein just makes me feel good.

When I was recovering from my skin removal surgeries it was essential for me to get in A LOT of protein.  Using these products was a great way for me to get that protein in, and I think it is what really helped me heal so quickly.  My body was actually craving protein.

So lets begin…

Protein Shakes 

Optimum Nutrition:

I have found that this brand is the best when I just want to drink a protein shake plain.  I usually add about 6oz of water, a little less than 1 full scoop (I like to keep mine around 100 calories) and shake it up in my blender bottle.  I will usually have this right after I workout and sometimes before I workout too, depending what I eat before I go workout.

Kevin and I love the Pure Chocolate flavor the best!  It tastes just like chocolate milk.  You can also use milk for a more rich flavor.

Protein Waffles

 This protein is my absolute favorite for making protein waffles.  (Waffle Recipe).

Protein waffles are amazing and I love eating them before or after I workout or eating them for breakfast or even dinner…really anytime!  I usually eat these as a meal.  Snickerdoodle and chocolate peanut butter are amazing!

 

Smoothies

I love using both of these brands to mix with nonfat milk (or milk of choice), fruit and a little ice to make a smoothie, fruit bowl or shake.  My favorite is vanilla protein powder, raspberries or strawberries, nonfat milk and ice and blend it up! So good! Definitely a great way to help a sweet tooth and get a little protein in.

 

Bars

Quest

I love eating Quest bars!  Sometimes before I workout I will eat 1/2 of a bar.  

Suppliments and Vitamins

For me, I take a multivitamin, probiotic, vitamin C and LOTS and LOTS of water.  I really do not take anything else in terms of supplements or pre workouts.

I really hope that this helps you guys out!  I am not a nutritionist or an expert on this, or by any means telling you guys that you need to drink protein shakes in order to lose weight.  I am just sharing with you what I do and what I find helps me.  I will also only drink or eat these bars and shakes if I go workout, and sometimes when I am not in the mood I do skip it all together.  I just found over the years that these are the best ones for me and the ones that I love!
