Welcome to my NEW Disney Series! I am so excited to be starting this new Blog Series!!! The fact that I love Disney is no secret, and if for some reason you missed that little fact about me, now you know! Disney holds a special place in my heart. My whole family is Disney fans. We have been going to Disneyland at least once a year since I was born..well actually since I was in my moms stomach. Ever since I started sharing my whole fitness/weight loss journey, I have put off sharing much about my love for Disney, because I thought no one would care. So I just shared my weight loss and skin removal journey. I think it is time to introduce/share this different side of my story. This new side to my journey. Something that is a big part of my life, my journey, and is part of what makes me, me. I know this Disney Series might not be for everyone and that is ok!!! It’s SHOPPING time! It’s one of my favorite times of the year, the ! I LOVE shopping, this sale, for many reasons. First reason, and maybe the most obvious is that everything is on sale! It’s not like a regular sale where they old items and things that no one is buying, they are brand new items for the fall at a discounted price. The sale is only running through August 4, and on August 5th, prices go back up to the regular price. If you see something that you love, pick it up and fast!!! Things do sell out VERY quickly but make sure to keep checking the site and in-store if something that you love is sold out! Nordstrom might restock some items or if people return items you may be able to grab them. The other reason that I love this sale is that along my journey of losing over 300 pounds, I loved treating myself to new items as little treats and rewards along the way. I don’t know about you, but when the weather starts getting warmer, there is nothing I like more than a smoothie. Better yet…a chocolate smoothie! I am a girl who loves her chocolate. My favorite dessert would be chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, and …rainbow sprinkles! You thought I would say chocolate sprinkles, didn’t you? Losing over 300 pounds, I had to find alternatives and ways to still enjoy chocolate…just in moderation and in healthier ways. So while I do enjoy cake and ice cream every once and a while, I found a healthier way to satisfy my chocolate tooth while keeping my health and fitness goals in mind. This chocolate protein smoothie with peanut butter and coconut is not only my favorite smoothie, but it is something that I can enjoy guilt-free every single day! For smoothies, I like using powdered peanut butter, but I also love adding real natural peanut or almond butter too. You can even add some spinach to this to get in some more greens! I eat a lot of protein and veggies. Like a lot. And yes…this can become quite boring! Well…have no fear because I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to make the boring protein and veggies seem…well not so boring. In fact, I have a lot of tricks, such as this beef and broccoli, to make veggies delicious and make you crave more! This recipe for a Healthy Beef and Broccoli is not only super easy and quick, but it is delicious. This one is my dad’s favorites and I feel like I make it just as much for him as I do for myself! I do not use the traditional cut of beef for beef and broccoli. However, I find that using bigger chunks of good quality steak definitely takes this meal up a notch. (I prefer this over the thinly sliced pieces of beef.) You can totally use any cut or type of steak or meat you prefer. This recipe makes a great lunch or dinner and is a great recipe to meal prep.
