Day 6 – “Healthier” Christmas Cookie Recipes.   There is nothing more wonderful than when your whole house is filled with the smell of fresh cookies baking in the oven.  Especially during the Holiday Season.  For a while now Kevin and I, have not only been on the hunt for good and healthy recipes, but for healthier dessert recipes as well.  After trying many recipes, some that we have loved, and some well…we haven’t loved as much, today I am sharing two cookie recipes that we have recently fallen in love with that are perfect for the holidays.  I know that the holidays can be a very hard time to stay on track and not over indulge, with all delicious holiday sweets and treats around.  However I do find that it is important to allow ourselves to have treats once and a while and not deprive ourselves.  If you can find a healthier alternative to some of your favorite holiday cookies it can help make your treat a little extra special.  Hopefully you will feel less guilty when having an extra cookie or two.     As a side note these are not necessarily “healthy” cookies but may be a healthier alternative to a traditional recipe.

Day 5 – Christmas Movie Workout  One of my Favorite things about Saturday’s is when I am able to sleep in a little bit after a long week and go get a workout in.  There is nothing better than starting off your weekend with a great workout.  It has been challenging for me because I haven’t been able to work out as I recover from my skin removal surgeries.  Working out has become such a huge part of my life and not being able to feels, well…weird.  I have been watching lots of Christmas movies lately and I thought what better way than to combine two of my favorite activities.  This how the “How the GRINCH Stole Christmas” Holiday Workout was created.  I decided to pick the Grinch because I have been watching it every night to help me fall asleep.  It is such a Christmas classic and I thought it would be fun to play a game  while watching.  This is meant to be a fun way to get in a little extra activity, and make working out during this holiday season a little more exciting!  Even  if you can’t do all of the reps, just do what

Day 4 – Warm and Cozy Slow Cooker Recipe   Last week I was wanting something warm and comforting.  It was really cold, wet and rainy outside and nothing sound better than snuggling up under a blanket with a Christmas movie on TV and a nice big warm bowl of chili.  I came across this recipe from House of Yumm, which sounded great and was just what I was looking for.  We had all of the ingredients so we decided to give it a try.  I love how they use lean ground turkey to keep this a more healthy recipe.     This recipe made it easy for us to have a home cooked meal while I was just home from the hospital, recovering from surgery.  Kevin was able to throw everything in the slow cooker, turn it on and 6 hours later dinner was ready.Recipe Crock Pot Turkey Chili  Prep Time: 15 Minutes Cook Time: 6 Hours Total Time: 6 Hours 15 MinutesINGREDIENTS 1 pound ground turkey 2 garlic cloves minced 1/2 yellow onion chopped 1 15 ounce can of tomato sauce 1 14.5 ounce can of diced tomato 1 7 ounce can of diced

Day 3  – Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide Santa would always leave very useful and practical items in our stockings.  When we were younger we would get pencils, erasers, notebooks, hair ties, shampoo, and a new hairbrush.  As we got older we would get things like toothbrush and toothpaste, gift cards to get our hair or nails done, gum, mints, and gift cards for coffee.  No matter how old we got, there was one thing that never changed, we would always receive the best candy in the whole world.  My favorite would always be a little scotch mallow Christmas tree from See’s Candy.  Now I still look forward to my See’s candy but along with my special tree I get my favorite sugar free chocolate as well.  I don’t always remember what was exactly left in the stockings, but I do remember laughing about the toothpaste and wondering how Santa knew where I went to get my hair done.  To me stocking stuffers can be as simple as everyday “necessities” but it is always nice to find an extra little something that you have been hoping for all year long.  Below I have listed some
