Let’s talk about motivation. I think this is one of the questions I get asked the most. How did I stay motivated to lose 350 pounds and how do I still continue to stay motivated now? Where does your motivation come from and how can I have it too!?  Well, let’s start with the definition of motivation. “Motivation is the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a certain way”. Where to find Motivation If I am having a difficult time staying motivated I like asking myself, “why am I doing this?” I like figuring out what my “why” is.  These “whys” are your motivation, they are why you want to make the changes and pick a plan to make those changes happen.  For me, I ask myself, why do I want to lose weight?  I came up with a whole list of reasons as to why I wanted to lose weight. I came up with all of my “whys”. Yes, one of the reasons was to “look good” but that wasn’t the sole reason I wanted and needed to lose weight. Many of my “whys” had to do with my health, wellness, and overall wellbeing. I knew that I needed to change my lifestyle in order to be successful. I knew that what I had been doing was not working and would not get me where I wanted to be. Starting Out Super Motivated After I figured out why I wanted and needed to change,…

5  1   6Shares Extreme weight loss.  Losing weight.  Beginning a new chapter of your life, starting a new journey, deciding to become the best you that you can possibly be.  We all hear others talk about how we can be anything we want to be and do anything we want to do.  We are told to follow our dreams and that anything is possible.  Often times, especially on a weight loss journey, we are told: “just do it.”   Part of having success is having a plan.  How can you be successful if you don’t know how to get there? I know people don’t like talking about the hard stuff or the stuff that may not be so pretty along the path to success or following our dreams.  But I think these hard moments are just as important as the pep talks and the “you can do its.”  The fact of the matter is, that losing weight is so much more than just losing weight.  It can get messy, complicated, scary and lonely.  It can take you down a dark path and make you feel lost and alone.  So what are some of the ugly truths of weight loss that I feel are so important and helped me become who I am today? Excuses…everybody has them and uses them as to why they can’t lose weight Yes, I made a bunch of excuses and justified to others and to myself why I would not and did not want to lose weight. It…

Day 11 – My Top 8 Tips for Getting Started With Exercise  I get so many questions about what my workouts were like when I first started my weightless journey!  Being over 500 pounds it was a physical struggle to really do anything. So I just walked.  I started with 5 minutes everyday which turned into 10 minutes and then 20 minutes.  Before I knew it, I was doing workout videos at home.  To be honest, I hated it!  Moving my body hurt and it was very hard to do.  I never let that stop me or make me give up.  I pushed myself and made working out a priority.  We all have excuses as to why we feel we can’t workout.  Reality is that the only thing stopping us is…us.  You CAN do it!  You just need to believe in yourself and give it your best shot.  Push yourself out of your comfort zone.  Nothing will change unless you are willing to throw out the excuses and try.  Create new habits by making exercise a part of your everyday routine.  It will get easier I promise, and the pain you may feel now will soon be filled with so much pride in how far you have come.  I hope these tips will help you to get started and start the New Year off on the right path.  Starting is always the hardest part, but after you get going it will be hard to stop you.  Just know that you CAN do it.    …

I can’t believe I am sitting here writing this.  I’m so excited!  I have always wanted to blog and start my own space where I can share and express my love for fashion, food, and fitness.      I am hoping that this blog not only becomes a place of fashion, food and fitness, but also a place of inspiration and motivation and believing that no matter what you want to achieve, with hard work, patience, and believing in yourself, you can achieve anything.   To get things started, let me first introduce myself.  My name is Jacqueline and I grew up in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area.  I absolutely love it here.  I have the most amazing fiancé, Kevin.  We have been together for almost 10 years.  On Christmas Eve 2013, we got engaged in front of the Disneyland Castle.  To say that was  a “dream come true” would be an understatement.  I am obsessed with Disneyland and all things Disney and have been ever since I made my Disneyland debut in utero.  Yea…Disneyland is kind of a big deal in my family.  My family means the world to me.  I don’t know what I would do without them.  I have the best parents who love and support me in everything I do.  I also have an older sister who has always got my back and would do absolutely anything for me.  I am super close with my cousins and my cousins kids and have a special connection with them. I am a HUGE San…
