Feeling Beautiful in My Own Skin

I was so excited when I saw this dress! Last spring I saw a whole bunch of my favorite bloggers posting about this dress, and it actually looked like it might finally possibly be something that I would be able to wear! It fit all of my criteria at the time! It seemed pretty long in length and it had sleeves which I loved so it would somewhat cover all the skin on my arms. The only problem now was if it was even going to fit….. This was one of the first times that I actually had the opportunity to go into a store, with a picture of this “perfect dress” and was hoping it would fit. Needless to say after crying in the dressing room when it actually did fit and I felt so confidant and beautiful wearing it, it just had to come home with me! I was so happy when I saw this dress come back in stock THIS spring and in a few new colors too! I might have to take a trip to Nordstrom and pick up another color haha. This was my perfect dress. The fit, the memories, the style…such a sense of pride when I wear it, even to this day! No matter how much weight I have lost, or how many skin removal surgeries I have had or will have, there is no such thing as a “perfect” body. There are always going to be certain parts that we wish were…

What keeps me motivated? Non Scale Victories like this.

I am shocked.  Surprised.  Confused. Excited.  Shocked.  Did I say shocked?  I had a huge non scale victory today, and it came at just the right moment.  I have been working my butt off to recover from not only one skin removal surgery, but two within the last 9 months.  Over 15 pounds of excess skin has been removed from my body so far, with still several surgeries to go.  I have finally (somewhat) returned to my weight that I was pre surgery, however for whatever reason the scale is not stuck on that weight and will not move.  I am, for now, avoiding the scale and just focusing on recovering. I am sticking to my eating plan and working out 6 days per week, which feel so good to be able to do again! I went to the mall with my sister to just walk around, shop and get coffee.  I then heard her say “Jacqueline I found the cutest outfit for you.”  When I walked over to see what she was talking about the first thought that came into my mind was “thats so cute” but it was immediately followed by “but that will never fit me”.  It was a super cute, 2 piece, CROP TOP jumpsuit.  Of course when I told my sister it would not ever fit me, she would not accept that answer and said we were not leaving until I tried it on.  She grabbed a size that I thought would for sure not fit and…

Movie Theater Snacks

I love watching movies.  I love sitting down any time, any day, at home or at the movie theater.  But I also love snacking, especially while I am watching a movie.  So this can create a real problem for me and it can make me sometimes feel more frustrated when watching a movie because I cannot just mindlessly snack like I did before.  But just because you may be trying to lose weight or follow a healthier lifestyle and overindulging in your favorite snack foods is not something you want or can do, it does not mean you can NEVER snack and can NEVER enjoy snacking while watching a movie.   Over the years I have tried a lot of tricks to be able to still enjoy my snacks, especially when I go to the movie theater and there are so many temping snacks available right at my fingertips. I have created a list of my favorite snacks to enjoy while watching a movie at home, or out at the theater. Of course you can always snack on fruit or veggies (which I do a lot) but i want to come uo with some better ideas than that!  Something that will give you that nice sweet and salty snack treat like you can get with popcorn and candy at the movie theater, as well as volume so you can snack for a little longer and feel more satisfied! A few weekends ago I went to see Beauty and the Beast…
