500 pounds.  A number I never dreamed I would ever see when I stepped on the scale. For me, while I was gaining weight, I avoided the scale at all costs.  I did not want to see what the number was.  For me, if I did not see it, it was not real. Being in denial about my weight did not do me any good.  To be honest it probably made it worse. Sometimes I think “if I would have stepped on the scale earlier, I would have never let myself to reach that number.”  I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and not living in the past.  I try not to think about the “what if’s”, no matter how hard it is for me not to do. So saying “What if I weighed myself sooner” does not change the fact that I didn’t and does not help me in any way now So there I was, weighing over 500 pounds.  I could barely get out of bed, put my shoes on, or get dressed without getting out of breath. When I decided it was time for things to change and when I decided I was ready to start my weightless journey, I had no plan on working out…if we are being completely honest.  I just wanted to lose weight and changing my eating habits was enough for me to just get me started For the first few weeks, I focused on my food.  I was…

I love nachos!  I would definitely say that nachos are my favorite food.  When I started my journey about 5 years ago, nachos were definitely something that I missed!  I would treat myself to nachos every year on my birthday.  Over the years I thought to myself “why do I allow myself to only enjoy nachos one day of the year?”  That got me thinking.  I now have several different ways that I love making healthier versions of nachos at home that I can enjoy anytime that I want them.  Today, since it is Friday and on Friday’s during Lent I eat no meat I decided that I wanted to share a meatless nacho recipe with you guys that is super simple and delicious.   Healthier Meatless Nacho Recipe INGREDIENTS Flatout Flat Breads Reduced Fat Shredded Mexican Cheese Blend Fat Free Beans (Refried or Black) Non fat Plain Greek Yogurt Salsa   You can of course add meat if you would like but for me, the cheese and beans count for my protein.Go ahead and add all of the veggie toppings that you like.Tomatoes, Jalapeños, lettuce, onions, cilantro…all so good.  I kept itpretty basic tonight and I loved it.  I mean you can’t really go wrongwith nachos.  INSTRUCTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 425° F  2. Cut a flat-out flat bread into little triangles  3. Place triangles on a cookie sheet lined with foil and sprayed with non-stick cooking spray 4. Bake in the oven until crunchy (about 10 minutes) 5. Add toppings of your choice (you can melt the cheese on the chips in the microwave, or sprinkle the cheese on…

I have been getting a lot of questions about what protein powder I use, so I decided to share with you guys my favorite protein powder and how or when I like to use them. To begin I just want to start by saying that I am not sponsored by any of these brands and I am not being paid to talk about them.  I am simply sharing with you guys what I like and what works for me! So I have 3 favorite brands of protein that I like to use.  I use them all in different ways that I find taste best and work the best for me. I personally get in a lot of protein from more natural sources everyday, however when I am working out, I like to have a little something extra to really help my recovery and build my muscles.  And a little extra protein just makes me feel good. When I was recovering from my skin removal surgeries it was essential for me to get in A LOT of protein.  Using these products was a great way for me to get that protein in, and I think it is what really helped me heal so quickly.  My body was actually craving protein. So lets begin… Protein Shakes  Optimum Nutrition: I have found that this brand is the best when I just want to drink a protein shake plain.  I usually add about 6oz of water, a little less than 1 full scoop (I like to…

This is a review for Enlightened Ice Cream Pints and Enlightened Crisps. I was sent these products from Enlightened however, I did not receive compensation for writing this review. This review is 100% my own opinion and I just wanted to share with you guys what I thought about these products.   Now with that out of the way, lets get down to the review!   Enlightened Ice Cream Pints –   About – “Enlightened Ice Cream is al all natural ice cream that is low is calorie and high in protein, contains 5g fiber, 20% of the RDA for calcium, and is as low as 2g fat and 3g of sugar. Our ice cream is made from rBST free milk, is gluten free, and contains no artificial sweeteners or added sugars.” “Enlightened contains no artificial sweetener (or anything else artificial for that matter!) We’ve chosen to use monk fruit extract and erythritol, zero calorie products of fruit, to give our ice cream its natural sweetness.”   My Opinion – WOW!! This ice cream is amazing!! They are so creamy and definitely taste like real ice cream. They do not leave a bad after taste and I love how they have large amounts of caramel, chocolate, cookies etc throughout the entire pint! During my weightless journey I have always craved ice cream. This definitely does not disappoint. They are so creamy, sweet and decadent and definitely hit the spot when you are needing something sweet. This is a great…
